THE SECOND DOLOMITES CONFERENCE ON THE GLOBAL GOVERNANCE OF CLIMATE CHANGE
One year after the first Dolomite Conference on the global governance of climate change by Vision and COP27, we are rapidly proceeding towards our own catastrophic iceberg (as for the latest IPCC report). In order to reverse this titanic syndrome, first we need to regain trust in our own intelligence and capability to solve problems.
This requires a change in approach and a radical change in the mechanisms and intellectual instruments we use to govern global problems (most of them conceived in a different century).
The second Dolomite conference's objective is, thus, to act as a catalyst of new ideas (both in terms of governance and projects to pursue) and as a promoter of a different cognitive and ethical approach to climate change (which can be applied to other global issues).
The second edition will follow a format which Vision successfully experimented for its previous conferences on climate change and on the future of Europe.

The conference will act as problem solving platform on the basis of a concept paper, where Vision will frame each of the 4 problem-solving groups and 9 plenary sessions. The concept paper will be prepared through online sessions engaging all participants before the conference. The outputs of the conference will be conveyed into a general manifesto proposing a different method to address climate change and an action plan for each of the problems/priorities analyzed by each of the problem-solving groups.
The Dolomite Conference will have the goal of placing Trentino Alto Adige at the forefront of the climate change discourse (as for a “new Davos”). There are going to be 80 participants in presence and 10 joining remotely. Criteria will be to have gender, generational, national, professional (policy makers, journalists, natural and social scientists, managers, entrepreneurs, influencers) balance. Key characteristic of the conference is that the preparation of the problem solving groups and plenaries will be designed by Polimi – Bocconi students as part of their Master’s in Transformative Sustainability.
The chairs of the conference will be: Alexandra Borchardt (former Managing Editor of Süddeutsche Zeitung, Independent Media Resercher, Journalist and Consultant), Enrico Giovannini (former Italy's Minister for sustainable infrastructures and mobility), Rohinton P. Medhora (Distinguished Fellow and former President, Centre for International Governance Innovation), Cliff Prior (CEO, Global Steering Group for Impact Investing), Barbara Kolm (Vice-President of the Austrian Central Bank and Director of the Austrian Economics Center).
The Dolomite Conference is looking forward to welcome the participants among which we envisage: Erik Berglof (Chief Economist, Asian Infrastructure Development Bank), Giovanna Melandri (President of Human Foundation/Social Impact Agenda), Malaika Vaz (National Geographic Explorer, TV presenter, and filmmaker), Paola Antonia Profeta (Full Professor, University Bocconi; Dean for Diversity, Inclusion, and Sustainability), Francesco Billari (Full Professor, University Bocconi; Rector), Colin Mayer (Emeritus Professor and former Dean of Oxford Saïd Business School; Visiting Professor at Blavatnik School of Government), Flavio Deflorian (Rettore Università Trento), Giacomo Gigantiello (CEO, AXA Italia), Diego Cattoni (CEO, Autostrada del Brennero), Jan Piotrowski (Business Editor at The Economist), Cerian Jones (The Economist), Pilita Clark (Financial Times), Florian Eder (EUI, head of Digital Journalism at Süddeutsche Zeitung and Founder of Politico Europe), Fabrizia Lapecorella (Deputy Secretary General, OECD), Rossella Miccio (President of Emergency ONG ONLUS), Alexander Janiaud (Senior Investment Correspondent, Sustainable Views, Financial Times), Martin Powell (AXA Group Head of Sustainability), Maja Groff (Convener of the Climate Governance Commission), Sharmini Peries (Editor and Vice-President of Communications, Institute for New Economic Thinking), Lisa Jucca (European Business Editor, Reuters Breakingviews), Petra Krylova (Global Research Director at the Social Progress Imperative), Amjad Abdulla (Head of Partnerships at International Renewable Energy Agency - IRENA), Dr. Suket Singhal (CEO Secure Meters Ltd), Sabelo Mbokazi (Head of Labour, Employment & Migration leading the policy initiative on Migration + Climate Change (African Union)), Karolina Nassar (News Anchor - Sky News Arabia), Gen.
